I would suggest you to ask your customer what type of security he wants to implement. For instance:

    * If he want to give access to only a subset of customer information to a group of users and another subset to another group of users, then you may configure Field Security Profiles to achieve this.

    * Or if he just want to have a backup of customer data (although it is not a concern of security) he may export CRM data to Excel.

    Hi,

There is no way of doing this using any out of the box features. Dynamics CRM has many features that rely on the data all residing in the same database. You can use security in CRM to protect that data - so you could have accounts and contacts that are only visible to a subset of users. See the following whitepaper - blogs.msdn.com/.../release-scalable-security-modeling-with-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2013.aspx

    Hope this helps

Well which is it? They either want them in two databases "for security" or to see them in one (so someone must have rights to see both, presumably).

This sounds like a perfect use case for needing two (or more) Business Units to separate records into two sets of data, with some users able to see only one half, others see the other half, and some senior people have access to all, for reporting, for example.

They just want to store different cusomer(have 2 type of customer) in different database.  They dont want to store in 1 database for their required legal processes.

In which case it sounds like they need two CRM organisations then.

Which means they can't see them in one CRM, but it seems clear that they do NOT want be able to see them in one, for whatever perceived legal requirement.

Maybe there is a terminology problem here. They want one CRM, but they want two databases. Then what defines "a CRM"? How do I know if I have one or two? Usually I would look at the databases - if I have one database, I have one CRM; if two databases, then I have two CRMs.

Of course, you can have more than one organisation (separate databases) on the same servers if you are using on-premises, so you can have two CRMs on the same infrastructure.

How much does your customer know about Dynamics CRM? Have you even discussed with them how security works, and the fact that you could use two (or more) business units to completely separate sets of records across a boundary so that users in each area cannot even see, find, discover, or read the records on the other side? But this lets you blur the lines, so people can share records of one type while keeping another type of record (such as customers) completely strictly separated.
