Creating Report that Shows All Items On Order During A Specific Period of Time

Hi Folks,

I am relatively new to Business Central 365 and need help creating a specific report.

Background: I work in the ski industry and am in charge of sales across the U.S.  We started receiving orders from our retail customers for fall 2022 on December 6, 2021.  These "pre-season" orders are entered as Sales Orders into the ERP.  We are a small company and only have about 30 pre-season orders.

Problem: I need to create a report that shows the aggregate quantity of each product on all of the pre-season Sales Orders so that we can determine how many units to order from our factories. It gets tricky, because some of these items are "carry overs", meaning they were available for purchase in 2021 and will also be available for purchase in 2022, so they could be on Sales Orders for current season (2021) shipments.  To account for this, I would like to run a report that shows the aggregate quantity of Items on Sales Orders, but only for Sales Order numbers that input so that I can select the specific Sales Orders that the ERP will use to generate the report.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Alternatively, I could run a report that shows aggregate Items on Sales Orders for Sales Orders created during a specific date range, e.g. December 6, 2021 - today's date. I think I figured out how to create a report of Items on Sales Orders, but I cannot figure out to filter that report to show me only Items on Sales Orders for Sales Orders placed within a certain date range.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you!!

Given the industry you may want to look at a fashion/apparel add-on to aid planning for pre-sales. ItSuits Fashion 365 is one of more affordable options.

Report wise you are limited with the standard range. Are you looking to use a specific reporting solution alongside? You may have the free version of power BI if your Microsoft 365 license allows.

    Hi

    Adding to Josh.

You also can use ODATA and Excel to design such a report in Excel. This is a guideline for ODATA/Excel archerpoint.com/.../

You can take Sales Header and Sales Line to Excel through ODATA then build the relationship and then Pivot and filter.

Other option is Power BI Desktop which is free.
