I have a client that prefers to pay the ACA fine and will not ever offer coverage to their employees.
They want to have GP create the forms but am not sure how to go about it. I have line 14 setup as 1H no offer of coverage. (easy part) I think I leave line 16 as none?
When I add the Health Insurance code to the employee, Benefit Begins is a required field. Should this be the employee's hire date? It won't let me leave it blank so I am not sure what other options I have.
There is no Deduction code for insurance since it is not offered. Should I create one with a fixed amount of zero? Will GP Create a 1095 if there is not a corresponding deduction code?
Any other tips, tricks or pitfalls in this scenario would be greatly appreciated.
