Microsoft Dynamics AX Solutions Excellence Certification Program Question

So I just recently found out about the Microsoft Dynamics AX Solutions Excellence Certification Program. However everything thing I can find about it links back to partnerSource. I am however only a customer of AX, so I don't have access to the site because I am working as a developer for a specific company (not an dev shop.) But I am still interested in getting this as I already have 50% of the certs required. Does anyone know if its a requirement to be a partner in order to get this certification or can I just go ahead and take the missing exams and MS will automatically grant me this cert through the MCP page?

Currently the requirements are listed as

    Hi Adam,

The certification should be connected with your MCP ID. A partner is required to have people associated in their company to meet the partner requirements. A customer can use AX and hire professionals with or without certifications. So this could be the reason that all information is linked to Partnersource. You can try to use the search engine in Customersource to find similar information. If it is not there... the certicifations are linked on your MCP ID ;).

Yeah I had already searched customer source, google, mcp, technet and everything always seems to link back to the partner source. Do you know after you have these 4 certs/exams if there are any other requirements or exams you would need to take for the "developer" or "technical" track?

By some reason, I can't find any information on PartnerSource (including the document linked from my blog, where you seem to get these links). Maybe it just got moved and I can't find it, maybe Microsoft withdrew it and is going to make some changes. I'll try to check it with Microsoft.

Definitely the certifications above were intended as prerequisites before you would be allowed to pass actual exams ("Both development and technical track will contain two exams – one knowledge exam and one lab exam").

I did... Great blog btw, its nice to see an extremely technical blog around. But unfortunately every other blog also listed the same link. I'm wondering if this was meant to replace the AX 2009 group cert, wasn't it like AX Professional Cert or something? I took a look and that also seems to be gone from the MCP site now. But if you hear/see anything about this new cert group please let me know.

    Thanks

I've got a statement from Microsoft:

At this time, the solutions excellence certification program is on hold.  We do not have an estimated timeframe for when or if this will happen in the future.
