Copilot Chat to Search for Specific Words in Records

Hi ,

I would like to know if Copilot Chat in Dynamics 365 can be used to search for records containing specific keywords or phrases.

For example, if I want to quickly find all records that include a certain word in a field, can Copilot help with this?

Is there a way to configure or prompt Copilot Chat to return such filtered results directly?

In addition, can Copilot Chat also return results based on filters we provide (e.g., status = active, created after a certain date, etc.)?

If yes, could you please share the correct approach or example prompts?

    Yes, you can search but with limits.
    Copilot Chat is integrated with Dataverse search (Relevance Search).
    This means you can ask:
    “Find contacts with the word ‘pharma’ in their company name.”
    “Show me opportunities mentioning ‘renewal’ in the topic.”
    Copilot will leverage full-text search, scanning across searchable columns.
    Note: It depends on which fields are indexed and enabled for Dataverse Search in your environment. If a field is not enabled for search, Copilot won’t be able to return results based on it.
