Is anyone aware of how to recognize revenue on the cost category (project category) level for fixed price projects by % complete in AX 2012 R3 CU8+? ForThis way you have one project. Thank you.

Do you refer to billing rules to invoice your customer or do you want to know how AX uses the POC to accrue revenue?
Probably take a look at the following blog post (blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../estimate-calculation-methods-for-fixed-price-projects) and related sites on this blog to get some additional insights.
