How Enable the copy user’s security access button Windows

Posted on by 290

Hello:

I'm trying to copy the security access to another new one, but on the User Setup Windows the button to Copy Access is not display.

How can I enable this options (widows o button) to copy the security access from an existing user to a new one ?

I have DYNAMICS GP 10.0.

Regards,

 Lewis A.

    Hi Lewis,

Ian and Aaron are pointing you in the right direction.

In version 10 you cannot copy security from one user to another. That feature was added in GP 2010.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Lewis,

Here are your available options for GP 10.0:

    1. You can copy an existing task to a new task

    2.  You can copy an existing role to a new role

    3.  You can copy roles and tasks for a user from one company to another company provided you have granted the user access to these companies.

In version 10.0, you do not have the functionality to copy user security from one user to another new user.  There may be an ISV out there that has created this functionality as an add-on but it is not part of the core.

Copying Access from one user to another is new functionality available in GP 2010.

    Lewis,

I don't think that functionality is available in version 10.0.  I believe the copy button that you are referring to is for copying access for a user from one company to another.  If you have only one company setup in GP, that could be why the button is not enabled.

Copying user access from one user to another is new functionality for GP 2010.  In version 10.0, you have to create the user, grant company access, then assign roles and tasks for each user individually.
