Workers Comp Question

We are in the process of implementing MS GP 2013 with Wennsoft Job Cost module. We are an environmental services company operating out of one state but we send workers out on jobs to probably 15 different states.

The vendor assisting us with our implementation is indicating that Workers Comp in GP/Wennsoft is calculated in a way that doesn't exactly make sense to us compared to how we are doing it now. We need to have the workers comp code rates change automatically on the job based on what state the job is in. Example: The employee is WC code 8810, when he works in OH, the rate is 3, but when the job is in IL, the rate is 4.

Apparently GP does not calculate WC this way. Instead we would have to make a manual adjustment on the time entry for that employee per day/per job. This could easily become overwhelming.

Hope that makes sense. Does anyone know if GP has the ability to do that? Feel free to think outside of the box if necessary.

Thank you!

As you can see the Worker's Comp code is on the Employee Card and then this is what default's on the Paycode. There is no way to produce for what you are looking in GP without a customization. My first thought would be create  customization that would look at your current payroll work tables and then split that into Payroll Manual Check entries where you specify the Worker's Comp state. You would need to take away from the default state and insert new ones for the states in which they worked. If anyone knows of a customization that already performs this please chime in.

Not thrilled with it but the more research we do the more likely a customization seems to be the situation.
