SOP to POP Line Re-Ordering Utility

Hello,

With regards to the PSTL for Dynamics GP, there is apparently an option for the SOP to POP Line Re-Ordering Utility. I am on GP2013 and I have loaded the PSTL and I am able to see all the utilities except for the ADDITIONAL UTILITIES which is where the SOP to POP Line Re-Ordering Utility is appaently in.

Any idea how I can go about accessing this utility?

Regards,

Jay

Jay, where are you seeing a reference to the SOP to POP reordering tool? I just loaded up the PSTL for GP 2010 and I do not see that option nor anything for Additional Utilities.

There are 2 separate things: the PSTL and a list of Additional Tools that are available. They are often listed together because they were developed by the same team.

Richard - you can see the list at the bottom of the page here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../noam_pstl.htm (requires PartnerSource access)

Jay - ask your GP partner to download this for you - give them the link above.

As usual, you are the best Victoria. I noticed the Shipment Notification Tool is down there. You learn something new every day. Thank you.

    Hello Victoria,

I agree with Richard. You are the best.

Thanks for the link. I will try that and let you know if still any issues.

Wonder why it is so difficult to find these things.

    Regards,

    Jay

RE: SOP to POP Line Re-Ordering Utility

    Hello Victoria / Richard,

Again, Thank you for the assistance.

I have downloaded the latest PSTL (PSTL_GP_12.0.12) and I have downloaded the additional tool, SOPtoPOPLineReorderingUtility_2013 as suggested in the link you provided.

I do see the tools in my Dynamics.Set file.

In the Link it states "Open the Professional Services Tools Library window from your shortcut and click Register. The correct key will default in, then click OK."

I do not get the option to click on REGISTER.

Am I missing something on this?

    Regards,

    Jay

Jay, I think now that the PSTL is free registration is a moot point. When I installed PSTL on my computer today it behaved the same way. Do you now see the SOP/POP Line Renumber tool?

    Hello Richard,

No I do not see the SOP/POP Line Renumber tool, even though under Customization Status the SOP TO POP SEQUENCER is enabled.

Keep in mind I only have FABRIKAM installed and not other company.

    Regards,

    Jay

I do not believe you will see any of the additional tools on the PSTL window because they are not part of the PSTL.

They will simply work on the computers where they are installed. If you're seeing it on the Customization Status, that tells you it is installed on the computer.

RE: SOP to POP Line Re-Ordering Utility

Victoria, as always, is correct. Here is what is in the ReadMe file for this utility.

The SOP to POP sort order customization will wait until the Purchase Order documents are generated, and will then look at the Purchase Order and will rearrange the lines of the Purchase Order to match the order used within the Sales Order. If a batch of Sales Order documents was converted into Purchase Orders and a single PO document contains lines from multiple Sales Order documents, the same process would occur but all of the line items from a single Sales Order document would always be grouped together and ordered in the same order as on the Sales Order document. The Preview report will still print in Alphabetic Order, but the Purchase Orders will be in the same order they were on the SOP documents.
