I would like to be able to track liens in AX. Has anyone had any experience in attempting to do that in AX 2012? If so, how were you able to do that. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Michael,

Please find a useful blog from Martin Dráb

    Hi Michael,

This link talks about the "Named user license counts" report and how to prepare data for it. (community.dynamics.com/.../named-user-license-counts-ax-2012.aspx)

In addition, using the Security Development Tools (technet.microsoft.com/.../hh859729.aspx), a separate tools that needs to be installed manually, you can check the highest effective user license type of a Role, Duty or Privilege.

Let me clarify what I am looking for: Lien ... not License

A "Lien" is a legal right to keep possession of property belonging to another person until a debt owed by that person is discharged. This is often recorded with a government entity and that Lien is not released until the debt is completely satisfied. If the debt is not satisfied, the lien is on record and if the asset is sold, the holder of the lien must be paid before that transaction can be completed.

I was looking to see if anyone had attempted tracking liens in AX. In some industries (construction and building especially) these liens are widespread.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mike,

I am also looking for the same answer you were searching for in 2014.  I was wondering if you ever found a way to track liens in AX?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Michael...I have not found one and if I had to at this point would But nothing clean within AX has come to light and since this area is a bit of a "fringe" area...I do not see Microsoft including that anytime soon. If you find something though...please post back here...I would definitely love to see what you found ...if anything. Thanks! Mike
