Hi Business Central Community,
I am trying to Transfer my inventory for all items from my location-A (Advance warehousing) to location-B (Basic warehousing) using a Transfer order. And for that, It is required to switch off the 'Directed Put-away and Pick' boolean on location-A (Advance warehousing) along with all open warehouse activities deleted.
For that purpose, I have deleted all the picks, putaways, and movements associated with the items on Location-A (Advance warehousing). But still, If I try to disable the 'Directed Put-away and Pick' boolean following error appeared.
Moreover, I am new to business central, If you can suggest a better way to transfer inventory from Advance warehouse location to Basic warehouse location then it will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Hi M bilal,
Please check for the items you were unable to create pick for does it has any Reservations or not. If it has reservations then this could also be the reason you're unable to create Pick for the rest of the quantity.
Hello Bilal,
Thanx for responding for answering about Bin Code I asked earlier.
See, you cannot transfer stock from Basic location to Adv. Warehouse Location or vice-versa. All times you get the error related to "Directed Put-away and Pick is enabled".
Well, you can only use a direct method which is in my knowledge.
You have to Add positive stock by Item Journal for Basic warehouse location. And make negative adjustment entries from Warehouse Item Journal for the Advance Warehouse Location.
If my answer helped you, maybe it can help others. Please verify it, so other users know it worked or helped you.
Thank you.
No we are not using Bin code on the Basic warehousing location.
We have initially deleted all the picks, movements, and putaway associated with 'Location A' (Advance warehousing).
After that, we made use of the configuration package [table5741] and then registered the picks where we came up with this particular issue.
Thanks
Can we transfer stock from Adv. Warehouse enabled to a basic location. It's not possible.
Hello Bilal,
can you confirm me, are you going to use Bin code on the Basic Warehouse location or not.?
Hi M bilal,
Before Creating / Registering Picks make sure you have sufficient stock available with you to proceed ahead. For this make sure the Qty. used in Warehouse Shipment is free to transfer/register in your warehouse i.e. there should be no Reservations against the quantity and existing Warehouse Lines (Pick Card) against the Item, then try to Create the Pick and Register it.
Hope it helps.
Hi @Business Central User
I have got all the items & inventory against them in my transfer order using conf. package[Table 5741] and tried to register the warehouse picks so then I can post the warehouse shipment but I am unable to have qty picked for some of my items due to which I am unable to post the shipment.
Any suggestions/ideas of how can I overcome this or where is the issue basically?
Thanks
Hi Bilal,
It is not recommended to make 'Directed Put-away and Pick' boolean = False.
However, if you want to move stock from Advanced Warehouse Location to Basic Warehouse Location you can use Movement Worksheet to fetch the actual data available in you Advanced Location then copy the fetched data into your Transfer Order, you can use config pack (transfer line table = 5741) to upload it (If you try to get the Bin Contents on Transfer Order it will throw you an error called 'Directed Put-away and Pick must be equal to 'No' in Location: Code=NORTH. Current value is 'Yes'.') then you can follow the process based upon your location setup to Ship & Receive the data to complete the transfer cycle.
Else, you can follow as Ben suggested, i.e. do the -ve adjustment for Advanced Location then make a +ve adjustment for Basic Location.
Then your option is to use a transfer order as described here:
