PC Message Number 1780

Working in a terminal services environment with SL 2011 SP1.

When trying to open the Project Transaction Transfer screen in the Project module, we are receiving this error:

"PC Message Number 1780"

"This application is in use by '(one of our users)'."

The user it is listing does not change. We have rebooted the application server hosting our server install of SL 2011 with no success on fixing this issue. Have also double checked, the user it is showing has been manually logged off of their terminal services session and still no one else, not even SYSADMIN, can access this screen.

Any thoughts as to what is causing this?

When you first open the screen, it creates a control parameter record to signify that "you are using the screen". Then when you close the screen, the record is removed. But the problem is that if the screen crashes or something along those lines, then that control parameter record is never removed so you can't get back into it.

To correct this, open the project "Control Parameter Maintenance" screen. Enter "PA" for the control type. Then F3 in the control code field and select "PAPTT-INUSE". Then click the delete button on the toolbar to delete this record. You should then be able to open the project transaction transfer screen without error.
