Fixed Asset Retirement Error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We attempted to retire two assets and got error messages the following error messages (Image 1).  Now the assets show that they are retired on the Asset Inquiry screen (Image 2) but there is no detail on the Retirement Inquiry screen (Image 3).  We did not have the Fixed Asset Calendar set up for the year 1990 to I have now added that and updated the Quarters.  How do we complete the asset retirements correctly?  They seem to be stuck in limbo.

    RE: Fixed Asset Retirement Error

You have passed half the way. Apparently, the return code two shown in the error is related to fiscal year setup in Fixed Asset module, rebuilding the calendar and associated quarters is a must in order to proceed and cut the bleeding.

As for the corrupted retired two assets, I believe there is no easy way to revers the retirement since it was corrupted. You may consider deleting the assets and reenter all the asset details all over again, and then retire them.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
