bchsourc has an asterisk - delete from the database?

Can transactions/ batches where bchsourc has an "*" asterisk be deleted from the database? I'm asking about open or work tables, SOP and POP mostly.  I know we delete these from the SY tables to clear locked users or transactions.  Can we also delete these from the POP and SOP tables like 10100, 10300 ?

    Hi,

Bchsource gets this '**' asterisk when posting gets interupted and when interupted batch has been restored through batch recovery. You will have to make sure the transaction is getting posted properly before deleting it from tables. Deletion from tables is possible.

    Thanks

I would add that if you find documents in the SOP10100 table with BACHNUMB='*batchname' check the SOP30300 table to see if it made it to History.  Just compare SOP1000.SOPNUMBE=SOP30200 and SOP10100.SOPTYPE=SOP30200.SOPTYPE. If there is a match you should be able to delete it as most likely all the adjustments to inventoiry did occur.

These were in the POP tables. And yes posting was interrupted.  We have a PO that had items received against it. And everything but the PO shows the correct received amount.  The PO shows in Open and History.  I was thinking I could rename the bach (it's the userid) and try it??

Interistingly i found literaly hundreds of asterisk batched in the POP30300 tables

As a general rule, I would not recommend deleting anything from tables unless you are 100% sure of the implications.

An asterisk in the beginning of a batch source and a batch ID that is a user ID simply means that the user did not save their transaction into a batch before posting.  There is nothing wrong with these transactions and this is allowed behavior in GP.

If posting was interrupted, and the posting was not able to recover on its own, first steps are typically  to run check links and/or reconcile.
