Hello, my question is regarding quotes and order handling of quotes where you combine the sales of standard items in separate order lines with one or multiple order lines consisting of jobs. Jobs here meaning items not yet designed but with a spec. and precalc so its possible to quote. Is it possible that some lines are just items and others are jobs? Thnak you in advance. Lars
Thank you for the reply. The standard items are part of the quote. An example: We quote 2 standard table top label printers + one special table for the printers designed for this customer alone. The 2 standard printers have item numbers and are taken from stock. The special table will have to be designed, we have to buy parts and we have to spend some hours in the workshop to make it so we would like to run that as a job. Can you combine in this way or is there a better way? Thank you in advance..
Are your standard Items sold as part of the Job or truly separate? If part of a Job add them as Contract Planning Lines and issue your quote from the Job.
If truly separate, add the Items to the Sales Quote and add the Job lines as G/L or Resource lines on the quote. Billing through Jobs is generally started from the Job, so eventually the Job lines on the Quote will be removed from the Sales Document, but they can be placeholders until the work is accepted.
