Prevent obsolete or retired products from appearing on Sales Order lines when looking for items

Good morning all,
Is there a way to prevent obsolete or retired products from appearing on Sales Order lines when trying to pick items? They are STOPPED in the default order settings for Sales Orders, but still showing up.

Sales Order Lines should only be able to pick ACTIVE products?

Thanks in advance

Regards
  Neil

    @Aparisi82
Sorry, this may have been unclear. (When I was saying "Pick", I meant using the mouse to select the item from the list of available items).

The product is stopped, all dispositions / states are correct, and the process and config correctly stop you from processing the line.

The issue that I'm trying to address is when you actually create a new sales line, and want to select the product that you are adding, you still see all the obsolete and retired products, which seems like the default for this field should NOT show those products. It will also allow you to select that obsolete product and go through the motions of completing the sales line.

We have had to change the search names of products to include ***obsolete*** in the text to try and help identify the ones that should not be used.

Again, this is not a massive problem, we can't complete the rest of the sales process with obsolete items, but it just seems like an obvious filter that should be able to be set, or even defaulted to not even display obsolete items when entering new sales lines, or is there some other tweak we could make to those obsolete products that would stop them showing up?

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Regards
      Neil

Did you mark the products as "stopped" after you raised the sales order lines?
Because if a product is stopped for sales,D365 would not allow to create the lines in the first place.

If that is the case, you won't be able to despatch these line even if they are picked.

If you want to prevent picking , and the products are batch controlled  you can disable picking assigning an ad hoc Disposition Code.

Having said all of that, it seems more a process issue where you raised sales order for products that you ended up marking as obsolete.

    Hi Neil,

This is only possible with help of a customization. You can then override the standard lookup behavior.

    Hi,
Can you provide more information, such as screenshots and how-tos, but the information you provide is not enough to support us in helping you solve the problem.
    Best regards,
    Kevin
