No Stocking scenario where requirement based MRP is being utilized- the situation is that I have a product that requirements are procured and then produced at a "sub kit level" in one warehouse (Wrhs A) and then the sub kit is consumed on the Kit level in a production warehouse (Wrhs B); I am attempting to get a planned transfer prior to inventory of the sub-kit from Wrhs A to Wrhs B with the timing immediately after the planned production is scheduled for the sub-kit to be complete. Proper Default Order Setting are configured for the Items (Wrhs A - Purchase) > Sub-Kit (Wrhs A-Production) > Kit (Wrhs B- Production).
Solution for generating Planned TO (2/11): was using a pegged BOM Line type on the Kit BOM: sub lvl kit was set to pegged on the BOM Lines, so was not generating a Planned Transfer Order. Question, can someone provide scenario when it is optimal to use Pegged BOM Line Type for Master Planning and creating the Directly Derived Orders, essentially I want to hard mark every order in MRP as it is a pure demand run business (i.e; No inventory) with out Pegged BOM line type so that Transfer Orders are still generated
Is it possible for MRP to generate:
- Planned Purchase Order for Item requirements of "Sub Kit" in Wrhs A - Achieved
- Planned Production for "Sub Kit" in Wrhs A- Achieved
- Planned Transfer (Without Inventory) of "Sub-Kit" from Wrhs A to Wrhs B- Missing (Is this possible prior to inventory of produced "sub-kit"?)
- Planned Production for "Kit" with consumption of "sub-kit" in Wrhs B- Achieved
I have tried adding an additional coverage on the "Sub-Kit" for Wrhs B and overriding to a planned order type to transfer with a main warehouse of Wrhs A (Wrhs A Coverage is default order type: Production)
I have also tried setting up Wrhs B (Inv Mgmt > Wrhs) with Refilling set to "YES" and a Main Wrhs of : Wrhs A
