Hi this is to make an inquiry. A user of the accounting department was typing information in the window of Abbreviated Journal, came up with a power outage and when you try to re-enter a message stating "the diary entry is already embedded in another window" will appear. At the time of power cut was not even saved in the system. The route of this option is troubled Financial Module, Transactions, Abbreviated Journal Entry.

You should also make sure everyone is out of Dynamics GP and then run these queries - NO USERS SHOULD BE IN DYNAMICS GP when these queries are run:
SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY
SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..SY00800
SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..SY00801
SELECT * FROM TEMPDB..DEX_LOCK
SELECT * FROM TEMPDB..DEX_SESSION
Sometimes users don't smoothly exit Dynamics GP, especially during power outages. These queries will tell you if there any user activity is locking files in Dynamics GP.
Please run the following scripts against your company database in SQL Server Management Studio - Query Analyzer:
Select * from GL10000 where JRNENTRY = 'XXX'
Select * from GL20000 where JRNENTRY = 'XXX'
Select * from GL30000 where JRNENTRY = 'XXX'
REPLACE XXX with the Journal Entry Number that is Stuck
These queries will identify which tables hold data for this Journal Entry - It is probably only the GL10000 table. Once we identify what data is in the database we can come up with a resolution for the problem.
