integration manager Inventory qtys.

I am trying to bring inventory qtys into GP.

Some are tracking serial numbers, some are none, and others are lots.

Would it make sense to do three imports? Also I am wondering what the secondary files (lots and serials numbers) should look like. For example if I have a lot qtys of 8 all going to lot 17 would I need 8 lines or 1? I am thinking 8.

Also is there any tricks you could offer that would make this easier would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I am assuming you are using Int Mgr.  Any other import would get pretty difficult as many tables are affected.   For Int Mgr, I would create 3 source files, 4 if also utilizing multi-bins.    The 3 would be the header file, the detail, and the 3rd would be the serial lot.   To answer your question on the lots, it depends on how you want to see the purchase receipts.l  If there are 8 qty's of 8 for lot 17, you can do either 1 qty of 64 for lot 17 or 8 qty's of 8 to lot 17.  Doesn't really matter.   For s/n, you need to have unique numbers.   Int Mgr is difficult to explain as source files can be so different, but the suggestions I put out there should get you started.

You will want to import the beginning quantities into an Inventory Increase adjustment batch and then post that batch. Otherwise if you ever run IV Reconcile, these quantities would be wiped out.
