Configuring AX 2012 Enterprise Portal

Hi,

I have just installed AX 2012 enterprise portal but am unable to access it. Initially I was getting an error message that I was not a registered user, but then found that the system service account needed to be set up for the business connector proxy account which I did. Now I am getting an error as follows:

"The site http://servername:xxxxx/sites/DynamicsAX/ is not registered with Microsoft Dynamics AX"

I've read somewhere that in order to register it, I need to go to in AX: System Administration > Setup > Enterprise Portal > Web Sites

However I am unsure what I need to do from here. If I click on "New", a site ID of all zeros appears, and if I try to enter the above URL into the "internal URL" field, I get an error that says "This site is not found in the SharePoint configuration database."

Can someone please guide me through what I need to do from here?

Much appreciate any help!

Anil

I'm having that same exact issue this afternoon.  Here's how I got there:

Installed AX 2012 Environment, including EP.  Didn't import any data, was able to login and see the checklist and Home screen from the EP.

Restored the Contoso Demo Data into my Dynamics AX database.

Now, I'm going through and re-linking all of my servers, but I get these same errors for the Enterprise Portal.

Hope there is an answer soon!

    Anil,

I just got this working again.  I had tried reinstalling the Enterprise Portal (replacing the existing site), but that didn't work either... I got a different error.

So, I rolled back the server to just after AX EP was installed, deleted my registered EP sites in AX (AX Client -> System Administration -> Setup -> Enterprise Portal -> Web Sites), and re-added my EP server in the format of "http://MY_SERVER" (my EP site was at the root on port 80).  For whatever reason, when I tried to enter "http://MY_SERVER/", it gave me an error saying the site was not found in the SharePoint Configuration DB, but without the extra "/" it worked fine.  I restarted AX and my Home page now showed the Enterprise Portal!

I'm not sure if it's entirely necessary to roll back your DB, perhaps just deleting your registered EP sites and re-adding them will do the trick.

    Good luck!

Re: Configuring AX 2012 Enterprise Portal

Thanks! Someone actually suggested the same thing to me yesterday and it worked. It was just the darn '/' after the URL. Who knew it would be so simple!

Just had to enter the URL without the trailing slash in the internal and external URL fields, then saved my form. Then put the address in the URL field on the right side of the form and clicked create site to actually generate the site.

    Thanks for your help Adam!

Little late to the party, but I can also confirm that removing the extra '/' did the trick.

just clear the EP setting from AX, and install EP again it should work fine.

Also please remember to backup these tables ( msdynamicsaxtips.blogspot.in/.../list-of-table-in-ax-2012-should-be.html )
