How to reverse inventory stuck at an In-Transit location.

Posted on by 233

Hello everyone,

We transfer from locations, and we use a location In-Transit to do it. We deleted many of the transfer orders because they never got to the location and now that inventory is stuck in the In-Transit location, and we need to send that back to the original location to write it off. When i try doing it with the Item Reclassification Journals i get this error.

We can't receive that inventory at the final location, and we can't send it back to the original one from the In-Transit location.

Our partner is suggesting to "butch" the system with code to remove the check that blocks the Item Reclassification Journals from moving from out of the In-Transit location.

I honestly think that doing that is extremely dangerous because it is messing with the core code.

Many thanks in advance for the help.

    Hello Everyone

    Good evening

No worry!! I have also found same issue with my US client and after doing few R&D I achieved it.

kindly follow given below steps to get this scenario done.

    1. Go to Configuration Package

    2. Create new package

    3. In the table Id use "14" and then export it.

    4. Change Use As In-Transit field true to False in your exported excel sheet.

    5. Import & Apply the package.

    6. Check In-Transit location, it should be changed as normal location.

    7. Be make sure that no one should create any transfer order at this moment.

    8. Now you can use item reclassification journal or Item journal to transfer items from IN-TRANSIT.

    9. After completing this task again export configuration package and Change Use As In-Transit field False to True in your exported excel sheet.

    then use step 5 & 6 Accordingly.

I hope this will help you.

    Thank You..

Hi, It seems that when you delete the Transfer Order, you did not delete it in the normal way, which caused this problem.

And BC does not currently allow direct adjustments to In-Transit location inventory.

So I agree with MahGah, you can turn off "Use as in-transit" of this In-Transit location, by a customiaztion tool.

And then use Item Reclassification Journals to change inventory location.

    Hope this will help.
    Thanks.

    Hi

    This may help

Go to "In Transit" location card and then turn off "Use as in-transit" You may need a help from developer or try configuration package for this action

Create & Post a Reclass journal - make sure you apply to the correct Item Ledger Entries

Then check back again "user as in-transit"
