Issue with Address Character Limit in Shopify B2B Connector for Business Central

Hello Community,

I'm currently working with the Shopify B2B Connector for Business Central (BC Online) and ran into a recurring issue with syncing B2B company addresses.

The problem arises when Shopify company addresses exceed 50 characters on the first line. In BC, the Customer table allows:

  • Address: 100 characters
  • Address 2: 50 characters

However, from what I’ve observed, the connector seems to map Shopify's full address into a single line. When that line exceeds 50 characters, the sync fails for some B2B companies.

What I'm looking for:

  • Is there any built-in handling or configurable mapping in the connector to split or truncate long addresses safely?
  • Has anyone implemented a custom logic workaround, such as parsing and splitting the address into Address and Address 2 during sync?
  •

👨‍💻 I’m a developer and open to implementing a custom solution or event subscriber logic to resolve this — just looking for the best approach or event to hook into.

Any insight, direction, or Microsoft documentation reference would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

This is a known issue not only with Shopify but also with some other front-end websites and freight carriers during the shipping process. I’d recommend truncating the name and adjusting the address to fit the character limits.

You can work with your partner and they will put in the road map for you with Business Central team.

    Thanks!
