We recently installed Smartlist Builder to our exisitng GP 9 installation. On the Tools menu 'Smartlist Builder' is greyed out. What do I need to do to make it available? It does not address this problem in the 'Smartlist Builder Basics' doc or the installation instructions that I have.

Victoria, I did hear some partners advising against Advanced Security. They did not understand it, did not like it, and wrongly advised against it.

Hmmm....never heard of anyone being advised against Advanced Security, nor have I had any issues with it. But in any case, yes, you can use regular security as well. You were looking in the right place - SmartList Builder windows are in a separate 'product' so you would need to change the Product to SmartList Builder, the type to Windows, and from what I can see there are choices under the System and Project series that you may need.
We do not use 'Advanced Security' and I could not find Smartlist Builder in the regular 'Security' except if I choose it as the Product. When we initially upgraded from GP 7.5 to 9.0 we had been advised against using 'Advanced Security' . It is my understanding that I cannot switch between using them ... it seems like the SLB should also be listed in the regular security so that I could give access to it there. Any ideas?
You will need to grant security access to each user or user class that you want to have access to the SmartList Builder menu options. SmartList Builder menu options will be under by Menu | Tools | SmartList Builder in Advanced Security.
