I have a business requirement to return items to a Site and to a specific bin location based upon the reason for the return.

I set up the Site with all the bin locations but on doing a return, I want the item to be returned to another bin location other than the default bin or the bin that was used on the sale for the item. However, in the PV list for the warehouse bin location I realized that I am not seeing the specific bin that I want to return the item to although that bin is associated with the Site.

Is there a setting that I am missing to enable all warehouse bins to be available for the specific warehouse on a return? All bin locations have been set up to "allow sales". If this is how the system operates, could a customization be done to allow the return to the bin location even though it is not appearing on the PV warehouse list?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Stuart, yes receipts allowed is checked for the bin. However, in further investigations, apparently one cannot do a return to a bin location when that bin has not been used previously in transactions. This seems to be how the standard system works and will require a customization for it to work the way in which I intend it to work.

Lisa, do you have Receipts Allowed checked for the bin you want to return to? I believe that a merchandise/material return would be a receipt by the system.
