Cancelling Events Registration

Hi,

Is there a way to cancel from an Events Registration from CRM? e.g. for customers who don't have a portal login and call up the office to cancel their registration - how do we do this?

The user guide (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-au/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/set-up-event) says:

  • Contacts who cancelled: Lists contacts who were registered for the event but who have now cancelled their registration. The list includes cancellations made by contacts using the portal and by users using the Marketing app. If you'd like to communicate with contacts who cancelled from one or more events, you can set up an interaction segment based on EventRegistrationCancelled interactions and then use that segment to target a customer journey.

but I can't locate where to do it from within the Marketing app.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Yen,

This Interaction Segment help documentation link should provide the guidance for you.  You simply have to scroll down quite a bit and you can setup a segment like the below.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Megan,

Thanks for the reply but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

I'm trying to find out how to cancel an Event Registration from within CRM. For example, a Contact signed up for an Event using the portal but then called up the office saying he wouldn't be able to make it after all - how does an admin person in the office cancel that Event Registration record?

At the moment, the only 'cancel registration' functionality I can see is located in the portal itself, i.e. the contact can log into the portal and cancel his/her own registration but there has to be a way for the back office team to cancel it via CRM as well?

    Thanks.

    Hey Yen,

Right now, cancelling a registration from the portal removes the registration record, but maintains an interaction with the contact itself. We'll be introducing better handling of event cancellations in an upcoming release.

Thanks Shravan - so it means that we can cancel an Event Registration through CRM by deactivating it, but doing it this way means it won't be recorded as part of the interaction?

Do you have a timeline on the upcoming release and some rough idea on the better handling design? This is so I can plan it better on our side as well. Thanks.

    Hey Yen,

Deactivating an event registration will not cancel the registration (and hence will not create the cancellation interaction, correct). We should have a fix for proper cancellations of the registration entity in an upcoming release, but I can't comment on a timeline just yet.

    Shravan

    HI Shravan
Is there any news on this change, was it part of April release?

    Hello Shravan,

On a related note, We saw the form for Event where InteractionsTab_EventRegistrationCanceledList tab holds all cancelled registration, but there is no property associated to the control. How does the data get populated.

We wanted to enhance the experience to bring more information in the grid that populates.

Hi all, Is there any news on this change. I haven’t found a way to cancel event registration manually in D365. Am I right or is there some way?

    Hi,

I do also want to know how to cancel a registration in the marketing app itself the only possibility is to delete the event registration and i can not add the person to te cancellation list

    Any news on this topic?

This is running for a year now!!!

A basic functionality not possible. Seems that this "application" is more a showcase and causes more trouble than customers a willing to pay.
