How to Disable form validation on Assign

Any idea how I can disable the form data validation for an assign operation so that one user can delegate to another without filling all the required fields.

This is working for existing entity with missing mandatory fields at record level from a view. But when trying to use the same functionality from the detailed form, missing mandatory data prevent this from functioning.

Any suggestion would be of great help !

Thanks in advance,

Muba

Assign request always calls for  a save before assignment in detail form so that user will not loose the information. Where as in bulk assignment from view is done at background. Plugin can be an option but all depends on your requirement and how you want that to be triggered. You can set default values if you business is satisfied.

Thx a ton for the clarity Badri. No users don't want any default value selection as the person they are delegating to will have the answers to the right choices to be made. They just want it to go through identically from both View and Form. Is there a way I can invoke the functionality used on the view level from the form level and pass it the necessary parameters to get similar functionality.

I don't think you can do it - at least I'm not sure it's worth the extra efforts.. You'll likely have to create a new ribbon button to implement your own "assign" so you could remove "business required" validation from the fields, or might create a CRM dialog..

Or, as a workaround, you might create a new field (user lookup), put it on the form, and attach a workflow to it that will reassign the record whenever that field gets update.. then you might have some javascript/business rule to remove "business required" from the fields in the "onchange" of that lookup (not sure this will just work, but it might)

Thanks for your thoughts Alex. Missing plain old ASP.net where this would have been about setting a property on the button :).
