Thanks everybody. I resolved the issue. It was frustrating at first - since MBS had basically stated that 9.0.371 and later were directly upgradeable to GP2010. I was trying to go from 9.0.388 (latest tax updates) to GP2010 SP1 (media downloaded from Partnersource). I finally found under 'Hop Topics' a page that stated a 'patch' had to be applied to my GP2010 client install bringing it to a build comparable to 9.0.388.
I finally concluded (not the sharpest tool in the shed :)) that the tax updates in the 2 products had to 'match up'. It makes sense, especially since this client uses payroll.
Every day brings an opportunity to learn a little more.............
Bron,
what error your getting did you follow upgrade path ?

Try above link may help you.
Thanks

I would start by comparing the DYNAMICS.SET file on your GP 9 installation to the DYNAMICS.SET file on your GP2010 installation. The products have to match . Also, if you look at the log file to which the error message refers, what product is it not upgrading?
What is the error? Which product is giving you a problem and what builds does it refer to?
Kind regards,
Leslie
I am trying to upgrade from V9 build 9.0.3888 (which according to MBS is upgradeableable) to GP2010 and getting same error as Sandip did............
Hi,
From GP9 I believe you have to pass through GP10 then to GP2010. Did you try this path? Unless you have read somewhere that this is possible gp9 to gp2010.
Hi there, currently i also got same error, but in my case i'm upgrade GP 9.0 (9.00.0293) to GP 2010 (11.00.1307)? I already tried the solution above but still have same error? Can someone help me on this?
Sunbeam,
Thanks much for your reply, Patch for Dynamics GP 10.0 help me to resolved issue.
Thanks
Sandip
hi,
which GP10 installer you were using? the one from the CD release or from partnersource downloaded version which contains the service patch [incorporated].
