How do I uninstall the Payables Integration into Payroll module in my current install?

Hi All,

I was originally receiving error messages after installing the latest payroll update. ("SQL Error :208 on invalid object name 'dbo.APR_PIP 40100”) We recreated the table and removed the Payroll Integration to Payables (PIP) from the set file because we are not using this module. This resolved the errors above.

I need to know how do you uninstall Payroll Integration to Payables (PIP)? Or because I removed the Payroll Integration to Payables (PIP) from the Dynamics.set file is as good as removing it from the install?

Any clarification would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Deborah

    Hi Deborah,

If nobody has already written a script to eradicate this module, here's what I would do. Use the Programs and Features option in Control Panel and remove the entire HR Suite if you aren't using any of the other modules. Assuming that's not possible, I'd remove it from the set file as you have done.

I'd need to learn which tables were part of the PIP dictionary. That's easy enough, you could look through the Table Resources window or you could open the PIP.DIC dictionary in Dexterity Utilities and print out a report. The latter is my method of choice.

Now that you've got the list of tables to remove, you need to search the company database, and the DYNAMICS database for the value 4522 (which is the product number for PIP). This will identify tables you need to edit to remove the reference to the PIP product. I'd review the tables discovered above to determine whether I needed to do anything to them.

Next, I'd modify the tables containing records relating to product 4522, and delete the tables belonging to product 4522. Finally, I'd fire up GP, test it and deal with whatever error messages were presented.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
