I deleted some old report categories from our Dynamics 365 on-premise installation, and now I can no longer edit existing or create new reports. Also, System settings is "broken" with the same error (where Report categories are stored).
When I try to create a new report or edit an existing one (Or open System Settings), I see this popup:
And when I click "Try Again" 8 times, I then see this:

Report Categories are just data that you can move between environments. I would suggest using the data transporter tool from the XRMToolbox to move the report category from another environment that has them (may be your UAT?) to the environment where they got deleted.
