Update CRM dynamic record directly via Email hyperlink

Good day All,

i'm busy investigating the possibility to update a CRM Record directly via an email sent from CRM

eg. on contact I maybe want to have a two options field with values Accept and Reject (default blank)

On the email template I maybe want to have 2 hyperlink values to accept or reject and depending on which one the contact clicks it should write this value back to the TwoOptions field (of that specific contact record) and select the required value.

Can this be achieved?

    I would say that you still need a separate solution that will do what you require.

    You could also think about using Microsoft Flow and try to adapt one of the samples here to fit your requirement.

    (e.g. Hyperlink with Parameters will call into MS Flow and there everything else could be done to set the value in Dynamics CRM.)

    Good day Andreas, thank you for the feedback.

    This is actually for internal use, the email will be sent to someone internal (for some reason these internal users were added as Contacts in the system and not 'SystemUsers'). If there is a way to get this to work internally I might have a reason to advise them to use SystemUser instead of contact

    For marketing purposes you could use the new Dynamics 365 for Marketing solution (buy) or other third party solutions.

    Otherwise you need to implement a separate web site that will access Dynamics CRM in the Background as any changes in your Dynamics CRM system requires authentication. So public facing your new web site could deal with the hyperlink parameters of your email and in the background (code-behind) you authenticate with a technical/separate user to your CRM system and set the required field on the right records.
