Dear all,

We are unable to Reverse the Status's (from Schedule to Estimate) of any Production Order, we are getting the error as "Error: a not properly finished or canceled inventory closing in ax 2012".

And when we checked all the Inventory Closing transaction, we have the error symbol in one of the past Inventory Closing transactions.

Can anyone help us how to find the cause of this error symbol? Or any further error details from here? Any clue or idea will be very much appreciated.

Hi Sunil,

Yes this is the correct approach to fix this issue, I have suffered with this on my own personal experiences by skipping the cancellation and try to adjust the inventory with the current adjustments. The result always turn out to be other than expected.

Eventually, you run out of options and at a time you have to follow this approach. So after the loss it is realized that this is the best way to do the calculations.

Good Morning sunil,

The reversal/cancellation and the rerun of the inventory close is the right approach to get this fixed.

That is because the reversal / cancellation will undo all vouchers and adjustments that have been done, which ensures that your inventory values are ok.

Next time please ensure that all inventory closures / recalculations finish correctly and completely before continuing and getting stuck as you experienced ;-)

We already reversed/ cancelled inventory close for subsequent months (from October to July) no red color error flog. Now we can able to reset the production order. Again we have rerun the inventory close.

Is this correct process, I mean if we cancel/reverse inventory close and again rerun inventory close for subsequent months ( previous months) is there any problem for inventory value.

Hi Sunil,

You can try by reversing the inventory calculations, & try re running the inventory calculation again. It will be a hectic activity for a day, but once its completed you will have better results. Eventually whenever such issue arises is due to a wrong settlement in between the inventory transactions.

Try in a test system just deleting the error line. At the end of the day its only an error message

Then sort out the production order, then run your close again. (I assume it was a close not a recalculation, otherwise just cancel the recalculation).

Hello sunil,

Can you fix the error if you reverse the subsequent recalculations and the closing as of 7/31 and if you redo the closing? (test this in a test/dev system first)

If you can't, ask a developer for some help to look into this and debug especially that you got no log created.

Actually we tried to reverse the july inventory close cancellation we are faced error symbol like red colored mark, to find cause there is no error log, for that we are doing "Pause calculation" and "Resume calculation" if We do like this error will solve ? If not if i cancel october, September, Aug and Rerun inventory close will it cause any problem? Any clue or idea will be very much appreciated.

Hi Sunil,

Check Note tab, that may have some details. Also you can try to resume close and see if you can get through it.
