Marketing Form that Does NOT Update Records?

Can you create a marketing form that does NOT update a contact or lead record?  It simply creates a new lead if one is not found or logs the form was submitted if lead/contact was found?

Based on the MS Docs, "When the form is submitted, Dynamics 365 tries to match the incoming data to an existing contact; if a match is found, the matching record is updated, otherwise a new record is created."

We have a business that does NOT want to update records when the form is submitted.  I do not see that as an option, am I missing something?

    Hi Stephani,

    Thanks for reaching out!!

As per my understanding, provision to create new contact every time without matching the existing contacts is not available.

I suggest you visit our Ideas portal and add this feature request.  Our PMs regularly review and community votes do impact the roadmap.

    Hope that helps!!

    Regards,

    Hi Stephani,

Vivek is correct, there is no option to not update the records today, so please do visit Ideas and suggest this.  As a workaround, you could select to always create a lead but on the forms, add a field that maps to the Topic field on the Lead page with a default entry like "Marketing Lead."  You could then setup a workflow to automatically close out these leads.  Not particularly elegant but a potential workaround if this is a hard requirement for the business.

    Thanks,

    Megan
