Tracking Subordinate records merged on a Master

Has anyone implemented customizations to track subordinate records that have been merged into a Master?

I think we'd want a sub-grid displaying multiple subordinated records on a master (e.g., a Master Contact record with a list of Contact records that were merged to it).

Would we set up a 1:N relationship of Master records to subordinate records and add a Process that triggers on deactivation of a record where the Merged flag is set to = 1.?

Is there an inception issue where a Master has a Subordinate and that subordinate has subordinates?

    Hi,

    The field related to merge process are set to searchable = No this means you cannot use them in advance find, workflow etc. You may be able to access these in a plugin and then add the master record to you custom marter contact field. You can then display it in a subgrid. I haven't tested it but believes that this should work.
