Can we add drill down functionality in SSRS report?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 226
I have tried every possible method to add drill down in D365fo but it does not run in D365fo.
I have tried multiple blogs about drill down functionality link1,Link 2,Link 3 and  Link 4 and multiple other blogs and videos. However when I have performed these functionalities in Ax 2012 they work perfectly.
Can anyone guide me about this functionality to run in D365fo x++?
 any suggestions...Sir?

What format do you see the report in? PDF through the embedded PDF viewer, I assume. Drill-down isn't supported by the PDF renderer of SSRS.

All right, you seem to be confirming my statement. You were looking at a PDF and drill-down doesn't work there.

you are right i have changed it ,but it do have a draw back that it implements on all other system reports. Is there any way from which we can implement "Report pdf" feature for one specific report?
    any guidance?

Let me rephrase it, so your question is clear to others. When you say "implement Report pdf feature for one specific report", you actually mean disabling PDF report viewer feature just for a single report.

This isn't impossible - features are global. What you'd have to do is creating a customization that would use the legacy report viewer for the particular report. I guess it's possible (until the old report viewer become obsolete and removed), but I've never tried to do such a thing.

In general, I don't find this design good and I wouldn't invest time into such an implementation, because I expect that it'll stop working sooner or later. Instead, consider using Power BI.
