AX 2012 - Create Table permission denied in database 'tempdb'

Hi All,

I'm running a script to update the vendor addresses and i'm getting the error like 

"Create Table permission denied in database 'tempdb'"

even after sufficient access has been provided in the tempdb still this error persists.

any suggestion to fix this resolve would be apprepricated

    Hi, a colleague of mine had this error some time ago, maybe the following link helps:

    Remember also, that:

    • Only processes that run on the server tier can instantiate TempDB tables
    • The domain account that you use for the Microsoft Dynamics AX service must have read and write access to the TempDB database.

    Hi Heinz,

    Thanks for your response.

    The AOS service account has enough permission to tempdb and also in my code i am not using/calling any temp tables. It's totally weird for me.

    Hi,

    Sorry for asking, but are you sure that AOS service account has permissions?

    All permissions for tempdb are lost each time the SQL Server is restarted. Dynamics AX installer creates a stored procedure to restore AOS account permissions in such cases (in master database, something like "CREATETEMPDBPERMISSIONS_AOS_01")

    In case you changed the AOS account recently or just moved the database from another SQL Server than the stored procedure is missing and SQL Server restart will cause such error.
