Creating a New Lead Source

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am trying to create a new lead source so I can allocate it to new leads we are creating. There is a drop down list of existing ones but no option to add new. Can anyone help?

    Hi,

Check if you have any javascript code which is hiding your options in Lead source optionset field.

Also, make sure you are adding the option in correct environment.

TRY TO HARD REFRESH YOUR FORM AND YUSE DIFFERENT BROWSER TO CHECK THE NEW LEAD SOURCE VALUE.

I personally was able to add the new lead source but it does not populate in CRM. I did publish my change. Any insights on what is going on?

    Hi,

You need to do this through system customization. The screenshot below should pretty much be self explanatory as to how to achieve this in your development environment before releasing to Production. Save & Publish when you're done.
