Econnect Install - Client Workstations

Hopefully a simple questions, I am trying to confirm we will need to install eConnect on all user workstations in order to use it.

We currently have eConnect installed on all servers, but only using Web Services at this point but want to look at some custom using eConnect.

    eConnect client need to install on each workstation if that user is going to use eConnect custom application.

    I usually use eCOnnect if  I don't find web method in Dynamics GP Web Service but I create Custom Web Service using eConnect. This way we don't have to install eCOnnect on each workstation.

    Below is code I use to get Next Document Number created custom web service using eConnect.
