Error running AP Historical ATB

Posted on by 405

We are using GP 2010 under SQL 2008.  When attempting to print the Historical AP ATB we are getting the following error.

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server] The transaction log for database 'tempdb' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log-reuse-wait-desc column in sys.databases.

Does anyone know how to fix this ??

Thanks,

The quickest way to shrink the log file for the tempdb database is it stop and start SQL. Dan is also correct that you should check you available space on your drive. You may need to move your tempdb database to a drive with more space. Make sure all of your using are out of GP before stopping and starting SQL.

You will need to shrink the log files.   I would also check the server space.   To find instructions for shrinking the log file, you can Google it or search Knowledgebase under Customersource or Partnersource.   You will want to act quickly if there is a shortage of space as data corruption can occur. Is there a great deal of history?
