Customer's future balance

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello

One of our customers is running SL 2011 SP2 and in several customers the Customer's future balance shows a negative amount. The customer balance current balance minus future balance is correct but there are no open payments on those customers.

We have already run the aging statement customer detail and the close statement process but didn't correct the future balance.

Any ideas on how to correct this future balance?

    Hello Rick

I did check all the ardocs and there is none with a posting period greater thatn 2016-04.

I'll use the initialize mode to correct the customers manually, but still haven't find the reason por this problem.

    Miguel,

I have seen this a few times before and I am not 100% certain as to the cause but I suspect it has to do with posting a payment or credit memo to a future period.  While not revealing the cause, if you turn on initialize mode on the customer screen, you can edit these fields to what they should be.  If you do not do anything, the issue eventually goes away as you move through the posting periods.  You could run the following query to see if you have any credit documents with a future period.

select PerPost,DocType,OrigDocAmt from ARDoc where Custid = 'xxxxxxx' order by ardoc.perpost
