Vendor Combine for Non sa account...it this possible?

I have a user that wants the ability to perform vendor combine. I found the security task and created a modified role that grants her this permission but each time she attempts to hit the window she gets a permissions error. I tried my best to scower the net before coming here with this but havent found anyone saying that they have done this. The GP document even says "this must be performed by sa".

My question is can a non sa account be granted this permission or not? It shows as a security task so I would assume it would be possible...right?

    I have used the Professional Services Tools for some years and for functions such as Vendor Modifier, Vendor Combiner etc, it will only work for the "sa" user - as it is directly carrying out re-organisation of data within SQL  Server across a range of tables.

    Just to add up, you could grant any existing GP user the "Power User" role in order to access Vendor Combiner and Modifier, It works just fine.

    Although, It should be taken into consideration that the power user has extended privilege that is almost similar to the (sa) user.

    FYI...  this functionality was brought into GP 2013 SP2 (sa only) and will be available to non-sa users in the SP3 timeframe.
