error AL1024 on publishing extension

Hello,

We are upgrading NAV 2018 to Business Central 14. I have an extension that we successfully publish on a Cronus database, but when I try to publish on the upgraded database I get the following error:

"error AL1024: A package with publisher 'Microsoft', name 'System', and a version compatible with '1.0.0.0' could not be
loaded. Symbols for the requested app System by Microsoft 1.0.0.0 could not be found in the database"

I have run finsql.exe with command generatesymbolreference but the problem persists.

What else should I do?

    Hi,

    Have you got this issue on BC 14? Looks like the extension you are trying to publish have dependency on Microsoft System App. Confirm if it exist in apps .alpackages folder.

    Yes, the issue is on BC 14.  

    In .alpackages I have Microsoft_Application_14.0.44327.app and Microsoft_System_14.0.44327.0.app.

    Please check if is installed ? You can check by opening extension management page on target BC and see.

    I have no extensions installed since this is the upgraded database and in NAV 2018 there were no extensions.

    Yes, the problem is in BC 14. After the upgrade of the NAV 2018 database to BC 14 we try to publish an extension in BC 14. There are no extensions installed in the database in BC 14.

    And I cannot find Microsoft_Application_14.0.44327.app and Microsoft_System_14.0.44327.0.app in the installation folder of BC 14.

    Got it then the error makes sense.

    If extensions are not available then you can install them manually.

    Get the extensions from the DVD of BC 14 and install them using command

    Publish-NAVApp -ServerInstance MyServerInstance -SkipVerification -PackageType SymbolsOnly -Path "your path to app"

    Or if you want to do it in detail then perform task 14 and task 15 in the link.

    The problem is that I cannot find the apps in the DVD of BC 14.
