Suggest locations while performing inter location movement within Warehouse through Mobile Device.

Hello All,

I'm trying to set up the following process:

Movement of stock from a Location to another Location within the warehouse. However I need the mobile device to suggest the Put location.

Preferable Strategy: 'Put' Suggestion should be based on the 'Put' location's Physical dimensions and also considering the Item's Physical dimensions.

    Hi Jill,

    Have you tried the menu item 'Movement by template'? You can use a Location directive of type 'Inventory movement' to determine the suggested Put location.

    Hello Guy, I did; without success.

    Below are the screen shots of my setup. Anything missing in them? I've defined physical dimensions on Item and Location.

    My process:

    1. Create work using the 'Movement-Template'.

    2. I use the work for a 'Put Away' operation as defined on the Mobile Device.

    But there is no Location displayed, and clicking on suggest location also throws up a blank.

    I've never used volumetrics, but on the Location profile, I wonder if 'Volume utilization percentage' of zero means that none of the volume of the location can be used. What happens if you set that to 100?

    Suggestion based on the volume would be the most preferred solution. In the absence of that, how else can I suggest locations?

    In the Location Directive, I'm currently using 'None' the location Directive Action.

    I understand that using '"Empty Location with no incoming work" will suggest only those locations which do not have any stock regardless of available space.

    What options does that leave me with?

    Hi Jill,

    I'm saying to use Volume, but on the Location profile you created called 'Bulk - Volume', set the 'Volume utilization percentage' too 100%.

    Hi Guy,

    I've setup the 'Volume Utilization percentage' to 100%.  No success with that.

    However, after including 'Volume' and 'Max Volume' criteria on the 'Location Directive Actions'-Edit query, I notice that the Location suggestion prompts the Bay Door Location.

    Any inputs would be appreciated.
