Standard journal entry

Looking for a way to set up a standard journal entry where I put in the account numbers once. The values change from month to month, but the account numbers don't. A quick journal will not work because it requires a single offset account. There must be something in Dynamics GP that allows me to do this.

Why don't you use integration manager.  Set your excel template the way you want.  Once set up integration is just clicks away!

    Cheers!

Use a Recurring Batch in which you set batch frequency and duration.  Assign the batch to the JE.  When you post the JE, it will recur until the end of its duration.  GP 2013 also allows you to select to have the amounts cleared with each posting, effectively providing a recurring JE template.

Will this approach also work with GP 2010?

Not seeing integration manager as an option in GP 2010. Must be a separate add-on?

Create integration using eConnect and add this into windows scheduler to run recurring basis. In the eConnect integration, you can get data from excel or any other custom tables to integrate into GP.

    Hope this helps!!!

[/quote]Integration manager can be accessed from Tools >> Intergrate >> Intergration Manager. if the link is disabled check if you have installed it.

    Cheers!

All but the clearing of the amounts works in GP 2010 and every version I have experience with, going back to Great Plains 5.5.

Integration Manager is an option - you may not have purchased it.

    Hi,

Both integration manager and econnect are separate modules, as you suspected. I do not understand why a quick journal is a problem. The Offset account is just one account to balance the entry. You can change which account you use at the time of transaction entry.

Why doesn't a quick journal work?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Can I have multiple credits? I was under the impression the quick journal only worked if you had one credit, and therefore would not work for me because I have multiple credits.

Yes, the distribution lines in a QJ can have either debit or credit values.
