Cannot Insert new row in between the lines in AP Purchase distribution entry window

Hi,

Not sure why I cannot Insert new row in between the lines in AP Purchase distribution entry window:

AP - > Receiving Transaction Entry - > AP Purchase Distribution Entry window

From the menu I select Edit  all lines are enabled except the Insert Row command is greyed out!

This is not the case in the sales transaction side.

Is there any logic behind that restriction in AP?

Thanks in advance?

Just to correct some typo included in the post above

"From the menu I select Edit  all lines are enabled except the Insert Row command is greyed out!"

    I meant :

"From the menu I select Edit  all commands/buttons are enabled except the Insert Row command is greyed out!"

You can just add a new row below the other distribution rows in the scrolling section. It won't allow you to insert in between the others.

The other option is to use the "Delete" button to clear all the distribution entries, and then you enter the manually in whatever order you want.

Although it doesn't affect the functionality of the distribution, I have been quite curious to troubleshoot the "insert row" functionality for the distribution table in both POP and SOP based on resources mentioned in the SDK. I am absolutely not being able to find the reason behind that, although I would like to share what I have been able to find out regarding the behavior of the distribution sequence number (when inserting and deleting rows), which might be relevant for some reason.

The distribution table uses the sequence number starting with 16384 as the first sequence number in a series of multiples of the base, (16384, 32768, 49152, 65536, 81920, 98304, 114688, 131072, 147456, 163840, 180224 ....etc)

Although, on the Sales Transaction entry distribution window for instance, the insert row create sequence numbers below the same base (16384), to go as follows with each insert row behind the first sequence number (512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192)

If you apply the same logic on the database layer in Receiving Transaction Entry Distribution window by manually adding distribution line items under (16384), you will see them "added" to the distribution entry successfully with no limitation.

    Just the general idea,
