Crm 2011 advance find SQL error in Excel ODBC connection

Hi,

According to the update rollup 8 fixes, the below error will be resolved after applying update rollup 8. - Assume that you are not a member of any administrative groups in an Active Directory schema. When you export a dynamic worksheet to a Microsoft Excel worksheet, you may receive the following error message:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][ SQL Server] The select permission was denied for the object 'fn_GetGuidsFromString'.

But surprisingly, my client is still experiencing this error after update roll up 8. Any resolution for this error.

**P/S: Installing outlook client is not workable, as my client is not using outlook at all. Because i saw a similar post on the web that has a workaround. I.e. http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/fi-FI/crm/thread/ced243eb-50bb-48f7-bff6-cad3bc2057eb

Is your CRM Server is on update rollup 8 or not? This issue is fixed in CRM 2011 update rollup 8

    Hi Alegnagoh,

I created a lab and after installation of CRM 2011 updates rollup 8 I tried all the possible combinations to reproduce this issue in house, but I am unable to reproduce. Then I again tested the same behavior after settings up another Lab where I did not install Update rollup 8, and I found that I am able to reproduce this issue easily.

I did checked the status of this known issue with product team and found that this is fixed in CRM 2011 update rollup 8. So, there is something else which is causing this issue in your CRM server.

There are few things that I would request you to check here:

    >> Is there any explicit permission in your SQL server?

    >> Can you Check this if you are able to reproduce this in vanilla org (create a new one)

    >> Finally re-install the CRM update rollup and then test this behavior

    >> If none of the above works then please open a support case with MS and we will look into this isue in more details.

    Thanks,
