Link between items ->service items -> service contracts and back - For MRP purpose

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me with some guidence. I´m seeking somekind of link between items ->service items -> service contracts and back - For MRP purpose.

I want to make material planning for consumption items, used for service contracts and I want to prepare my service with items from my warehouse.

But I can´t crack the link between the service item and the item to consume.

My dream is to get all item demand in to my MRP, based on the service contracts.

I would appreciate all inputs:-)

Thanks in advance

Br. Mikael

If I am understanding your question correctly, I do not think you'll be able to get what you are hoping for.

I do not think the MRP calculation is looking at Service Contracts to predict what Service Orders will be generated and then predict what material demand those Service Orders would create to give you a suggestion on what to order.

I would be thrilled to hear otherwise if someone has tested or uses the MRP in this manner, but I don't have high hopes.

IF the Service Orders already existed AND the Service Item Worksheet lines were present, the demand would be picked up by MRP, but the lines have to exist.

    Hi Ben,

    That´s my conclusion as well.

I would just like to know if anybody else was strugling with the same challanges:-/

The sollution could be that I realeased the serviceorder in a long period, ie. 6 month. But that´s just generating a lot of orders.

I could be nice if I could somehow include the items in the MRP, eventhough it´s still a servicecontract.

    Hi Daniele,

Thanks. But I can´t see in the link how I can connect it from servicecontract to the MRP?

    Maybe you can guide me:-)
