In D365 under System Administration / Server Configuration. Couple of questions about the field AOS Instance name:
- Is this unique for a customer, which is running a production and test servers? Will the production and test servers have their own AOS Instance name?
- If the D365 environment is hosted locally and the customer does a restore to a test environment, will this create the same D365 instance? We have customers using AX2009 or AX2012 which will copy their production database to a test environment. Was not sure if this is possible for D365?
- Can this data be retrieve using X++ code?
The ultimate goal is to find data which is unique for a D365 environment to be used for licensing purposes. Back in my Business Central days, the Tenant Id could be used for those using BC on-line, if it was on-premise the tenant id would be an empty GUID. Not sure if there's a similar data point in D365 or not.
If this is not clear let me know.
Thanks for the assistance.
Duane
