Management Reporter - opening output Excel file gives 'unreadable content'

If I output a Management Reporter file to Excel, when I open it (using Excel 2007 SP2) I get the following message:

Excel found unreadable content in 'file.xlsx' (the name of the file). Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook?

If I say 'yes', the following displays:

Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content.

Repaired Records: Cell information from /xl/worksheets/sheet1.xml part

The Excel file is then opened and it seems to be OK (I haven't done a detailed analysis yet, though).

We're running Excel 2007 on both the workstation & server, and both are at SP2.

    Hello,

    I was able to reproduce this here when I used a special character in my unit or display name of my tree. I believe you have a special character that cannot be used in a tab name.

    I noticed this with a unit name of "test/test" and "fin?ance", but I believe it can happen with any character that is not supported in a tab name in Excel.

    In such case I would suggest you effective professional recovery software  

    Make use of next one recover Excel it will restore *.xls, *,xlt, *.xlsx, xlsm, *.xltm, *.xltx, *.xlam file formats

    We received this same error and it appeared to be caused by strange format / currency override settings in the column definition used. The strange format code was because the reports were migrated from FRx. Fixing the format code to use the Management Reporter syntax fixed the error.

    If your data did not recovered till now, i would suggest you to try Excel File Recovery Software when you search on Google you will find many results and all websites offering free trial version.     Hi,

    Please Install the Visual Basic component in Office version & try to open the Excel file generated from MR output.

    Also try to Repair\Re-Install the Office version & check the result generation.
