Has anyone had any issues upgrading MR 2012 to MR 2012 CU14? Does MR need any interim patches or can it upgrade any version of MR 2012?

    Hi Richard,

I haven't tried to install yet on my test system.. but my experience with the CU12 or CU13 was that I had to apply the previous upgrades, coming from CU9 or lower, otherwise the upgrade would just hang..

I'll give CU14 a shot in the coming days or weeks.

They are on CU 9 right now and want to go to CU 14. I will download all the interim releases and do them one by one on the server.

Well the upgrade failed miserably. I applied CU10 and when it came time to upgrade ManagementRepoterDM it failed with the message 'Invalid Object: TableStatus' . What I discovered was that as soon as I clicked the button to update that database it deleted all the tables in that database. Any ideas on how to get past this point? Is this a bug in that upgrade? Should I try to go directly to CU14?

I am going to create a an image for their system and do a test upgrade. I want to see if the ManagementReporterDM database goes completely blank again when I go from CU 9 to CU 10. I did it twice on their system and both times it went blank. I left running a restore and I uninstalled MR 2012 and re-installed at the CU 9 level so at least they are back up and running where we started.

    Richard,

I grabbed my notes from last year when I was trying to do a fresh install of CU13 on a new server for GP2015R2 testing and it kept failing to install.. rolling back all the time at 2/3 of the setup.

I ended up installing CU11 first and then upgraded to CU13 with latest HF4, which worked.

Read this thread also, which provides various results people had with the upgrade to CU13 (and by essence could led to similar issues with CU14)

Wow, what a mess. I am definitely going to bring everything into a test environment where I can try different scenarios to find which path works. If I get stuck then I will open a support incident with Microsoft. I have had no trouble with new installs of CU14 but this was the first upgrade and it failed miserably. Any special trick to move MR 2012 from one server to another?

One thing to keep in mind is the security certificate (or whatever it's called) for the MR2012 DB when moved to a different server... Read the KB from MS about this :

Also, there was another thread last summer about moving MR2012 to a fresh new GP 2015 server, which may help too:
