Hello all!
I am trying to resolve a legacy issue from a previous custom ERP, It was added as development when we moved to NAV, and brought along with our upgrade to BC last year.
We are a wholesaler and our products have the end consumers RRP printed on the item, when the price changes our buying price is also affected and we are only notified when we receive the invoice. This is an industry norm, and we have the same issue with our several hundred suppliers, as do their other customers. We are attempting to make changes up the supply chain but that will be a VERY slow process.
This price can and does change between deliveries, and we will end up with 2 (or more!) versions of the same item that with a different buying price, selling price and end consumer price. Currently we are using 'Variants', but using the prices as the differential rather than colour/size etc. This causes delays in goods-in, problems for the sales team in processing orders and identifying where we have stock at another price that is available to ship, - and of course, finance have a list of issues with the whole thing!
Question: Are variants an appropriate solution here, or is there other functionality within BC that we should be using for this problem?
Thank you
D
